03 — Embossing

A lasting impression

Blind embossing — also known as colourless relief printing — is a special, elegant and exclusive effect, and probably the oldest form of paper finishing. It is only noticeable through raised or recessed areas on the paper and can be used on its own or combined with colour, varnish or foil.

Hot foil stamping stands out through the shine of gold, silver and other metallic tones — light and reflection give this finish a brilliant effect. Relief foil stamping combines hot foil stamping with blind embossing for a high-quality, one-of-a-kind exclusivity.

  • Our strength lies in small formats up to A4 plus
  • Blind embossing up to 520 × 360 mm
  • Embossing on paper, card or plastic

04 — Engraving Dies

No embossing without a die

Every type of embossing requires the production of an engraving die (cliché). Please note: standard offset screening (greyscale) cannot be produced during die-making. Your artwork should meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Clean black-and-white line artwork
  • Positive or negative film, minimum 1200 dpi
  • Vector data (e.g. EPS, AI) with text converted to outlines
  • Image data (e.g. TIFF, BMP) saved as line art at 1200 dpi

Hand sketch, logo or photo? We're happy to bring it to life with our experience and creativity — in partnership with our external partner, Gravur Tech GmbH.

05 — Finishing

Success lies in the detail

Finishing gives your print products the final touch. Individual sheets are collated into pads, sets or numbered vouchers and glued; semi-finished products are die-cut, scored and folded into folders or greeting cards. This demands clean work and precision in every detail.
